Editing:
In this opening sequence the images on the screen lead on to other images; for example the eye "burns" to reveal "magma women". The constant switching between the flames and the water shows the contrast between good and evil.
Camerawork:
When the water droplets fall, the focus pull technique is used as clips from the actual movie are placed in side of the droplets.
Different camera angles are used, as well as various levels of zoom, during the opening sequence.
Sound:
Throughout the opening, a backing music track is played.
Titles:
The titles used are fairly plain with a simple fade in/fade out technique. The colour of the text changes from a fiery orange to a little grey depending on whether the flames or the water are on the screen.

Conventions:
The background music in this opening sequence does not really add anything to the film itself. It doesn't link to the plot either.
